The Winter Crow Roost in Lawrence, MA is an annual, natural phenomenon that attracts great local attention each year. From late September through the end of March, crows converge every evening into this industrial city to populate an overnight communal roost.

Craig Gibson is a conservation photographer and creator of the Crow Patrol, a community project documenting the remarkable Winter Crow Roost in Lawrence, MA. Since 2017, he has logged more than 475 nights observing and photographing this dramatic natural spectacle, sharing insights through a dedicated blog, public talks, and collaborations with local arts and community groups.

An FAA-certified drone pilot and frequent speaker on birding, Craig’s work has deepened public understanding of crow behavior while inspiring appreciation for one of New England’s most extraordinary winter wildlife spectacles.
