Out on solo Crow Patrol under mostly cloudy skies, wind from south at 7MPH, temp at 53F, and sunset at 5:38PM; observed Crows from the Pacific Mills complex at 300 Canal Street, facing south and overlooking the Merrimack River with views to the west of the Casey Bridge, and then views to the S & SE towards the New Balance building; Crows were streaming in from NW, W, S and upriver from the east; noticed many Crows already perching atop trees on south side of river between truck depot and the river at 5:06PM, just over a half hour prior to sunset time;

Minutes later, made way around to South Canal Street; Crows on the ground in truck depot; on utility poles and wires; all over the National Grid substation; and on surrounding rooftops; photo below shows view from South Canal St. looking slightly NW with Pacific Mills complex in the background and Crows perched on trees near river at 5:21PM, about 15 minutes prior to sunset time; Crows seem to pulse in from both the south and from downriver; at times lots of vocalizing and mayhem, and sky full of incoming Crows, at other moments, the action subsided; again, amazing activity!  This larger group of Crows pulsing in towards final roost, in the featured photo, took place at 5:24PM, about 12 minutes prior sunset time
